DEVOLUTION
Have you ever had the occasion to watch a sand crab race across the beach? They move super fast and then come to an abrupt halt for a few seconds, then super fast again. Well, the fact is, they expend ALL of their energy with each move and are utterly forced to rest and refuel before darting off again. I have sand crab tendencies—darting around like an idiot most of the time and when I sit or recline, I’m fast asleep within minutes. The good news is, I sleep well, the bad news is, I have no real down time, just sleep time. Sand crabs have small brains and short lives. They say multi-tasking dumbs you down and moving fast clearly shortens your life span. I need more time to sit (not sleep) in stillness, or I'm going to start de-volving back to a sand crab :-)
