So I had to get up a lot earlier today than I have in a long time. I'll refrain from telling you exactly what time that was, but suffice it to say that being unemployed for several months and genetically predisposed to sleeping late means that it felt early to me. Because of that unemployment, my nights have been a bit restless -- I think my body and mind aren't challenged enough during the day.

Today, though, I got up early to babysit, then drove my friends to the train station in Harrisburg, walked a total of 3 dogs and went to the chiropractor. All of that added up to being quite tired and thinking that it only took until day three for me to question my ability to get through 21 days of yoga!

I did manage to get myself to the Flow 2/3 class, with Kristina, and discovered (for the 2nd time in my entire yoga life) that I practice my best yoga when exhausted! Crazy, huh? The one other time that I felt like I had a particularly amazing practice was after running several miles with a fellow yogi (not something I do on a daily basis). I didn't think my body had anything left and figured I'd be doing a lot of child's pose and breathing, but it was one of the strongest and inspiring classes I've ever taken.

The same thing was true tonight, as well. I felt incredibly connected and rejuvenated, almost like participating in a choreographed dance. Turns out day three wasn't all that hard. And a tired body = a more rewarding yoga practice. Once again, thank you Sol (for what is hopefully a good night's sleep)!
